Shira Lev Ami has been the Head of the National Digital Agency since its establishment in April 2022.
In addition to her position, she is active in the field of the climate crisis.
In the past, she was the IT Director of the Ministry of Health.
Over a decade in senior public administrative positions, combining operations, technology and data to promote a national strategy.
Previous Roles:
From 2002 – 2004, Lev Ami served as an organizational development and training development consultant in the Intelligence Corps in Unit 8200 (as a civilian).
In 2005, Lev Ami served as a strategic consultant at Shaldor.
In the same year, Lev Ami joined the trading department of the Fishman Group, where she worked closely with lawyers, accountants, appraisers and investment banks, as an integration and operations manager.
In 2006, she was appointed Director of Strategy and Information Systems at the Yad Hanadiv Foundation, and after five years at the Foundation, she left to take up the position of Deputy Director General of Information Systems and Digital Health at the Ministry of Health.
She served in the position from 2011 – 2018. For her work at the Ministry of Health, Lev Ami won a personal excellence award for IT Systems Managers in the market and an organizational quality and excellence award in the public sector.
In 2018 she founded the company “Sapirniga” – a start-up company dealing in the field of digital health.
In 2019 she served as VP of Technology, Digital Innovation, Data and Strategy at the Joint.
From 2019 – 2022, she served as an external director at the “David Shield” insurance company.
In February 2022, she was appointed to the position of Director General of the National Digital Agency at the Ministry of Economy, under which the Government ICT Authority and the headquarters of the “Digital Israel” National Initiative were merged.
Several times she won the award for the outstanding IT Manager and for outstanding ICT people competition of the People and Computers magazine.
At the age of 36 she was selected for the list of “The 40 Most Promising Young People” of the Globes newspaper.

Education:
Lev Ami completed three degrees, two in parallel (without a Bachelor’s degree):
As part of the Adi Lautman interdisciplinary program for outstanding students at Tel Aviv University: A Master’s degree in Business Administration – Management of Technologies and Information Systems and Organizational Behavior.
A Master’s degree in Political Science and Public Policy and a Master’s degree in Law and is currently studying for two additional Master’s degrees in Environmental Regulation and Policy and Applied Economics.
Personal life:
Shira is married to Tal Lev Ami, and is the mother of three children.
She lives in Modi’in.
