Lior Ateret is a cybersecurity manager with over 20 years of experience, specializing in large organizations and complex systems. His expertise includes establishing departments, building strategies, leading innovation, and serving as a board member. Over the years, Lior has analyzed hundreds of products and systems, developing a deep understanding of customer needs across various industries with a focus on aligning with business threats and organizational objectives. The Research Center he leads employs unique attack methods to understand the nature of existing defenses on the company’s products from the attacker point of view. This comprehensive approach helps set protection policies for GE’s products, determine security strategies, and foster innovation by leveraging external cybersecurity technologies. Before joining GE, Lior served in the IDF with the rank of Major and founded the National Red Team. In this role, he established and led a team of cybersecurity experts who operated across various IDF units, conducted cybersecurity assessments, and designed secure architectural solutions for critical systems. Lior has an academic background with a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is a recipient of the Shin Bet Director’s Shield Award and was selected as one of Globes’ 40 promising managers.
